If you are beginner rider then you should have one person with you as your travel partner who know very well to ride, so that you can share your ride time to time.
Many people start their ride from Rishikesh in the early morning to reach Sonprayag, which is 220 km from Rishikesh and it takes around 7-8 hours to reach, if you are average kind of rider.
While planning for a ride to Kedarnath temple on bike, you should leave from Rishikesh at least before 6 AM, because when you leave early in the morning you will have much time to explore much more than your plan.
If you leave before 6 AM in the morning, then I am sure you could reach Sonprayag before sunset if everything goes fine. Means no landslide and that’s the only thing in mountains which can make you to wait for long.
Try to reach at least sonprayag on your day 1, so that you can start your trek in the early morning and you can reach before Evening Aarti at Kedarnath Temple.
If you could not reach to Sonprayag, try to reach at least Guptkashi which is beautiful town 35 km before from Sonprayag.
Ride slow enough in the mountains and enjoy the ride don’t race.
From where you should hire or rent a bike?
So, if you are planning for bike ride, then you must have a bike or you don’t have then you can hire o rent a bike to start your dream journey to Kedarnath Temple on bike.
You can rent a bike from Rishikesh or Dehradun, but Rishikesh is most preferred destination to start this ride.

How much petrol you need to fill in your bike?
It takes around 15-18L of petrol in 350cc bike, and make it same in 220cc and 180cc. But 150cc and 160cc can give you good mileage.
If you are traveling two people in one bike you can then you can divide your petrol expanse easily it will cost you less.
What is the budget to travel on bike to Kedarnath Temple?
If you are planning for 3 day and 2 nights from Delhi, there would be your bus ticket, expanse of that place where you will stay, the rent of bike, petrol expanse and your personal expanse
Bus Tickets from Delhi to Rishikesh of bus is around – INR 300 to INR 1000 per person according to your choice of category.
Train ticket from Delhi to Rishikesh or Haridwar – INR 200 to INR 1200 per person according to your choice of category.
Always try to start your journey in the night from Delhi to Rishikesh and make sure you had a good sleep because you need to start your ride next morning.
